| (Spring 2006) I'll be opening for Bill Mallonee on May 15th at 7:00pm. The place? Scottie's Coffee and Tea House, on High St, in Worthington, OH. I'd love to have you stop by! |
| (Winter 2006) Happy New Year!!! Thanks so much for returning to my lil' piece of cyberspace. I guess this comes under the category of "better late than never." We'd hoped to get some songs recorded early this fall but it didn't work out as such. However, just in time for the new year, we got done with a new tune called "There You Are". I posted the Mp3 as well as the lyrics for your listening pleasure.
Feel free to:
- download it
- ipod it
- rip it
- burn it
- pod-cast it
- limewire it
- spam it
- napster it
- or re-record it (especially if you're name is Bono, Sheryl Crow, Paul McCartney, etc.).
I hope you like it...if so, pass it on to your friends. If you don't like it... please pass it on to your enemies and tell them to pass it on to their friends.
Thanks again for checking back. I plan on posting another song very soon. In the meantime, keep in touch.
Sincerely,
Fred

| (October 2005) I'll be playing October 15th at 8pm at Scotties Coffee and Teahouse in Worthington. The headliner is Bill Mallonee (founder of Vigilantes of Love). I hope you can make it out to see us. It should be a great night! |
(Summer 2005) Hello All! Thanks for checking back...long time, no updates. Believe me, I know. Anyways, just to let you I've been writing like crazy lately and hope to add some new free tracks soon. My goal, if all goes as planned, is to add one new song per quarter. You'll be able to download them and get a full album's worth in no time. I hope to have the first one done this fall. In the meantime, if you're really into channel surfing you can hear my songs as background cues in the following TV Shows (don't audibly blink or you'll miss them...):
- VH-1 Driven: Jessica Simpson
- VH-1: Before They Were Country Stars
- A & E Biography
- Soap TV: Soapography
As always, feel free to drop me a line. I read every word. |
(April
2004) Yes, you really DID hear that. If
you've seen the Jessica Simpson version of "Driven" that VH-1 has been airing for the past couple months, one of
the music clips used in the early part of the show is, in fact,
Fred's song, "Tremont, Illinois,
Christmas", from This Grand
Parade. Thanks to Fred's guitarist, Andy Harrison, for noticing
it and letting us know!
(Fall
2003) Well, it's been a while since we've
updated the site. But, Fred sent a personal note along with
a new song (well, actually it's from the This Grand Parade sessions)
but read on...
"Thanks
again for coming to my site. Sorry, the updates have been few
and far between but things have been a bit slow as of late.
I am posting an MP3 of a song called "You Got to the Top.
(see the Listen page)" I recorded
it back in 1999 with Dan Baird producing and we planned to include
it on This Grand Parade. However, when it was all said and done
it didn't seem to fit with the rest of the album...I think you'll
see what I mean once you listen to it. Nevertheless, it was
a lot of fun to record and the band played it live several times
in '98 and '99. But, when it didn't go on the album we scrapped
it from the set list. Enjoy!!!
By
the way, I've had a lot of fun lately writing new songs and
digging up some of my old lyrics and demos. I plan to post things
from time to time so check back often. Write when you get a
chance. I look forward to hearing from you."
~Fred~
(Dec
2002) Sorry about the delay between updates. It's been a busy time.
Fred's new album, "Every Reason That Doesn't Matter",
is getting great reveiws worldwide. Unfortunately for us, many
of them are in languages we can't read! However, here are a
couple we were able to get translated for you:
Glitterhouse.com:
"Exceedingly pleasant, catchy Roots-Pop is what Fred Haring
offers us with his second Blue Rose Album. Somewhere between
Ron Sexsmith and Freedy Johnston lay the ear-friendly arranged
songs, which get better as they get slower. Not that such good
rocking tracks like 'I just had the worst day of my life' is
bad, as a song in itself and as a way to deviate from the usual.
But the ballads catch Haring's heartfelt, deep voice, making
you forget everything and think, 'Damn that's good.'
Hinter-Net!:
"In the Blue Rose Porfolio we can hear the American songwriter
Fred Haring give us poignant personal tips. 'Every Reason Doesn't
Matter' is his third ablum and his performance climbs slow but
steady. Good to the core and mischievious are two attributes
that are connected with Fred Haring and his previous work. There
are two jampacked rocking songs and this album, and then he
returns to his original field with fine mid-tempo pieces. Kitsch
free violins and horn arrangements make the entire collection
noble as well as the old Church classic 'Under the Milky Way,'
which plays wonderful in context. Although Fred Haring has not
made anything truly new in the large field of folk-rock, you
should not wait for an old hero to regain his form, but lend
an ear to this young man."
(Aug
2002) We told you it was coming...and now it's here! Fred Haring's
brand new album, "Every Reason That Doesn't Matter",
is now on sale...right here on this
site! Oh...you want to hear a sample? Check out Carousel,
the first cut from the disc. You can also download the song
in MP3 right here.
(July
2002) Fred's third album is done and will be released in August by Blue
Rose Records.
If you'd like to see what the cover looks like, check
it out!
(March
2002) Fred's song "There's A Song in My Head" from This
Grand Parade was recently selected for inclusion on Sound
Asleep Records yearly
compilation, due out in October 2002. Sound Asleep is an indie
label located in Sweden. Meanwhile, Fred tells us he's in the
mixing stage on his new album "Every Reason That Doesn't
Matter". The European Release date is NOW officially set
for August 5, 2002 on Blue
Rose Records. |

(Winter '01-'02)
Fred is still
hard at work on the new as-yet-untitled album scheduled for release
on Blue Rose Records in 2002. He and the band have taken some
time off to see that it gets finished the right way. But never
fear...live shows and recorded product will be returning with
a vengeance in a few months!
